Brenda Loya

Brenda Loya is a  startup Chief Executive Officer, an  developer, and presently, an Executive Officer and Co-Founder at TellorDecentralized, a permissionless oracle protocol that powers apps on platforms like , , , and more.[6]

She has previously worked as an International Economic Analyst for the U.S Energy Information Administration, and at the Department of Labor as a Supervisory Statistician. She graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso. She currently resides in Washington, Columbia.[4][5]

Education

Brenda Loya graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. She returned to  Johns Hopkins University in 2008 for her master’s degree and he graduated in 2011 with a Master's Arts degree in Applied Economics.[4]

Career

She worked as an Analyst and Economics at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Washington, D.C., between December 2010 and August 2015. As an analyst, analyzed and completed a secondary review of employment estimates for Texas, New Mexico, and Los Angeles, and she also ensured analysts followed set policies and procedures. As an Economist she completed complex research projects; and brief high-level officials on benchmark revisions and research findings.[2]

In August 2015, Brenda was employed as a Supervisory Statistician at the United States Department of Labor to administer employment and training. As a Supervisory Statistician, she managed data collection, creation, and publication as well as analyzing for the Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Release. She worked for six months as an International Economic Analyst for the United States Energy Information Administration. During her six months of service, she analyzed world regions’ industry trends and energy intensities. She also helped develop tools to improve data reviews.[7]

She also worked at Daxia between May 2018 and March 2019 as a Lead Developer (Blockchain, Scalability, and Data Science). She helped Daxia to deploy developed contracts to testnets and mainnet as well as monitoring its production process regularly.

She is currently a Chief Executive Officer and a Co-Founder at Tellor, Frederick, MD after joining Daxia in March 2019. [1] [2][3]

Brenda Loya currently resides in the Washington District of Columbia.

Tellor Protocol

Tellor is a permissionless oracle protocol that powers apps on smart contract platforms like Ethereum, Polygon, and . It is a transparent and permissionless way for to easily get any data whenever they need it.

Tellor’s oracle works by incentivizing data reporters to put valid data on-chain while also disincentivizing bad reports via disputes and slashing. Becoming a reporter requires no verification process i.e. permissionless. Anyone anywhere in the world can be a reporter using open-source software, a unique characteristic among oracles.[8][9][10]
